Jermaine Dupri and Usher created classic music such as "Confessions," as a duo. The 2004 release, which is hailed as a classic, remains Usher's highest selling album and the last R&B album to sell 10 million copies. For a while, we weren't sure if the duo would ever work together again but, all that changed when a photo of the boys, with the caption "Me and Usher back in the lab," putting our speculations to an end! In an interview with TheUrbanDaily, Jermain Dupri spoke about the high expectations surrounding them working together. "When you do the records and you do that many numbers, and you have that many number ones, it's a lot riding on your back. It would have to be something me and Usher sit around and talk about because it's not like we can just go in the studio because y'all gonna critique it against "Confessions." I don't ever feel like I've made a record better than the ones I've already made. I don't think I ever made a song bigger than "Jump." But I did "confessions" and "We Belong Together." These records have a place out there that feels like they're bigger but I don't…

Lil Wayne released from the hospital

Lil Wayne was reportedly released from a Los Angeles area hospital late Monday night after suffering a seizure last week. Friend and president of the Young Money record label, Mack Maine posted on Twitter: Mack Maine ‏@mackmaine Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home....God is great Lil Wayne, aka Lil Tunechi has a history of seizures, including having “seizure-like” symptoms aboard his private jet in 2012. While the cause of these seizures have not been released, or perhaps aren’t known, at 30-years-old being prone to seizures isn’t exactly normal. Only 2% of American adults suffer from seizures with causes ranging from head trauma, alcoholism, ingestion of a poisonous substance, hypoxia (a lack of oxygen to the brain caused by drowning, strangulation, drug overdose, among others). Genetic factors could also be cause of seizures, but considering Weezy’s self-proclaimed drug use (i.e. sizzurp and molly), it is possible that the coveted “rap star lifestyle” is catching up to him. Wayne is not the only rapper battling seizures. Rick Ross also joined the "Seizures Mile High Club" last year. While the hip hop world is thankful for Wayne's recovery and prayerful for his continued…

Ne-yo hit with defamation lawsuit

A woman who once claimed that Ne-Yo was her child's father is now suing him for defamation. Jesseca White (not the supermodel) claims that the singer-songwriter broke their confidentiality agreement and defamed her by discussing their paternity suit on VH1′s Behind The Music. Just in case you're not familiar with the story, White had a son named Chimere in 2005. She listed Ne-Yo as the father on the birth certificate, however a paternity test proved otherwise. The former lovebirds settled the dispute with a $575,000 settlement and confidentiality agreement. Here's what Ne-Y had to say about the experience on VH1: "I didn't care who the father was. In my mind I was still Chimere's father. I was there when he was born. I saw him when he first came out. I held him," he said. "In the state of California if you put yourself out there as the father, the mother can then come after you for child support like you're the biological father. We settled out of court for what I feel like is an ungodly amount and shortly after that Jessica and Chimere vanished." Now, back to present day, White claims that she was defamed, ridiculed and harassed by…

Chris Brown needs to think before he speaks. The singer, 23, went off at Emerson Theatre in Hollywood early Thursday a.m., wildly ranting to the crowd about how to treat a woman -- and it was all caught on tape. In a video exclusively obtained by TMZ, Brown interrupts the DJ, grabs the mic and starts explaining how he keeps Rihanna where he wants her. Be prepared, this is NSFW and pretty foul. It’s that time! The highly anticipated new Tyler Perry movie “Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” will be out this month on March 29. If you’ve been living under a rock and you missed the trailer for the new flick, it stars Jurnee Smollet-Bell (The Great Debaters), Lance Gross (House of Payne), Robbie Jones (90210), Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Williams and Brandy Norwood. Smollet-Bell plays Judith, an ambitious, married woman who is tempted into adultery by a sexy billionaire named Harley (Jones). In the trailer, Harley is ruthless in his pursuit of Judith, capitalizing on her vulnerabilities and her husband Brice’s (Gross) inattentiveness highlighted by him forgetting her birthday for the second year in a row. Harley wines and dines her, flies her around on his private jet, heals her sprained ankle and of course gives her mind-blowing passion. But things get violent as her husband finally starts to notice that things are different and Harley’s chivalrous facade starts to crumble. The haunting words, presumably spoken from Judith’s mother, “That man is going to hurt you bad…he’s going to take you straight to hell,” foreshadow a tragic, Shakespearean end amplified by a scene where Harley and Brice smashing through a picture…

Alicia Keys has revealed that the video for her latest single, "Brand New Me" reveals some of the deepest parts of her personal journey.  The singer and songwriter revealed to Essence Magazine:  "Brand New Me" is a deeply personal song for me. It really expresses how I feel at this time in my life. I think what's so beautiful about this song is that it's about discovering a new version of myself and embracing the changes that come with being that person. And I know this is something we can all relate to at one point or another in life. Life is all about change... both good and bad... and learning how to best transition through those times. Sometimes you have to let go of certain people that are holding you back or relationships you've outgrown or things you've learned don't help you anymore. And when you do let these individuals and thoughts go, you realize what it means to trust your instincts and take control of yourself. Personally, this has been a big part of my life lately. And it's been challenging... really challenging. At times I've been so scared and unsure of how things would end up. I've…
